We are convinced that sustainable operational management is an absolute precondition for offering continuity to you and our people. Only by operating sustainably can we create added value for you now and in future.

How?

We do this by using the Trias Energetica, among other ways. We strive to apply it to the full extent, not only to our building sites, but also in our own buildings.

Sustainability in our operating processes
As part of Research & Dialogue, we like to sit down at the table with you, our customer, as soon as possible. We do this not only to better meet your requirements, but also to lay a better foundation to enable sustainable building. For example, it is easier to have the roof face the south or to be issued a permit for using geothermal energy early in the process. This way you always have the option of harvesting sustainable energy. 

In order to allow our unique combination of five disciplines to collaborate integrally in Interaction, we also use our sustainable knowledge data bank, from which we develop option models which enable us to incorporate sustainable energy in buildings by using modules. In addition, we develop financial models to convert the initially higher investment in sustainability into guaranteed lower monthly expenses. We want to make sustainability affordable for everyone by dealing with structures such as long-term lease, lease and rent creatively.

When taking buildings into production (Service), we want to minimise open seams and cracks to as great an extent possible from the very beginning. Moreover, we use the best insulation and ventilation methods possible. Only by doing so can the energy demand of a building be reduced to the maximum extent in the basis. Of course, this is also measured by means of blower door and thermography. Our installation companies can then adjust to the lower demand for energy sustainably via smart installations and measurement and control technology.

We apply the sustainable housing construction toolkit, among other things, and constantly study the energy standards such as EPC, GPR and Breeam.

Internal
Within our company we also follow a programme of continuously calling our people’s attention to the necessity of sustainability. For instance, we are currently making a CO2 footprint of Hendriks Bouw en Ontwikkeling, while energy labelling of our company buildings is taking place. We have also introduced a step-by-step plan to reduce our car fleet to a minimum energy label B. From 2011 we have been using green power at all our new construction sites.
