4D: from plotting the construction site all the way to handover, the interim design comes alive on your screen. This is reality when utilising the 4D system of Holland Virtueel, which is the name of the company founded by Hendriks Bouw en Ontwikkeling and the Kenniscentrum voor Projectadvisering en Educatie (KPE) to further develop the 4D technology for the construction and realty sector.
Time factor
Three-dimensional design - thus in 3D - is well-known. But four-dimensional, 4D? What should this bring to mind? "The fourth dimension is the time factor," says general director Lambèr Hendriks. He opens his laptop and conjures up the construction site of the Bospark apartment complex, under construction, in 4D on the screen. "Look, this shows us how far we should have progressed by which week, and how many company employees and how many subcontractor employees we need in that week, as well as all important details with which something can go wrong in practice. It is easy to put all of this on paper - and we will continue to do so - but we can also now display it very clearly. We are the national forerunner in this!"
